Experience
I attended St. Louis University in Madrid for my graduate degree in Spanish. I lived in Madrid for seven years, and I taught English for five of those. I believe in setting up an optimistic learning environment that is conducive to the student's comfort and growth. I don't believe any student is bad at a language. Rather, they are at a current level, and they can improve to reach new levels with hard work and plenty of practice. I know how difficult it can be to learn a new language, so I explain how these obstacles often lead to breakthroughs and provide other kinds of encouragement based on my experience seeing students excel in learning languages. In my free time, I like to run, translate, and read. I also enjoy creative writing and coming up with language learning games.
